In 2016, the United Kingdom’s National Health Service’s Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) launched an award-winning digital outdoor advertising campaign to highlight the life-saving power of blood donation and enable the public to give a virtual blood donation via a smartphone. The Power of Blood campaign, which featured empty blood bags and real-life recipients on digital billboards, used innovative augmented reality technology to simulate the blood donation process.
